Why we say thank you
Our industry runs on people who bring skill, care and pride to their work every day. Behind every precise seam is a person who knows exactly what they are doing — and who rarely hears a thank-you for it.
Wertschätzung is our answer to that. Not a sales pitch, not a product launch: one day on which we thank the laser welding community — welders, operators, technicians and everyone who keeps laser welding machines running.
Every participant is recognised. Every spin of the wheel is a thank-you, not a gamble. And anyone who wants to can say thank you themselves that day — to a colleague, a mentor, a whole team.

Three things you get on the day
Recognition and community do not depend on luck. Only the thank-you gift is up to the wheel.

The Wertschätzung wheel is open on Tuesday, 17 November 2026. Every verified member gets one spin. Each slice shows how many of its gift are left, and a gift that has run out is taken off the wheel instead of being left there to tease you.
The wheel is being prepared. As soon as it is set up the full list appears here — in three tiers, from the workshop thank-you to the main thank-you, plus a certificate for everyone.

How it works

A reviewer checks it by hand — usually within one business day. You get an email the moment your account is active.

17 November: sign in and spin
On Tuesday, 17 November 2026 the wheel is open from midnight to midnight. Sign in, spin, and see what the wheel holds for you. Your certificate comes either way.
Registration closes the moment the wheel opens. Register by 16 November. On the morning of 17 November we remind you by email — you spin whenever it fits your day.
The four steps in detail

Register now
Click any registration button on this page and pick the path that describes you — laser welding professional, Sigma Laser machine owner, or someone who bought a laser welding machine without being a welder. The form asks for your name, your company and a working email address, and nothing else: no card, no subscription, no software to install. You confirm the email with a six-digit code and your account exists. From this moment your place in Wertschätzung is reserved, even while the review is still pending.

Upload one photo
The proof is a single photo, taken on the shop floor. Laser welding professionals photograph themselves beside any laser welding machine, Sigma Laser owners beside the machine they run, and buyers who are not welders beside their own. A phone photo is enough; nothing needs to be scanned or notarised.

Get verified
A person, not a script, looks at every upload. That is why the answer is usually within one business day rather than instant, and it is the reason to register early: registration stays open until the wheel opens, but an account that arrives at the last minute may not be checked in time. If the photo is unclear you are told what was missing and can upload another; nothing is lost and your account stays open. The moment your account is activated you receive an email, and you can sign in at any time to check where you stand.

17 November: sign in and spin
On Tuesday, 17 November 2026 the Wertschätzung wheel opens at 00:00 and stays open until the end of the day, German time. It is a working day, so spin whenever it fits: in a break, after the shift, in the evening. We send a reminder by email that morning. The wheel shows every gift on it before you play, each slice says how many of its gift are left, and a gift that has run out is taken off rather than left there to tease you. If you land on a gift it is yours; physical gifts are shipped to the address on your account once the claim is approved. Your certificate of appreciation comes with every outcome.

Questions before you register
What is Wertschätzung?
Wertschätzung (German for “appreciation”) is Sigma Laser's thank-you to the laser welding community, held online on SYN, its free member portal. On Tuesday, 17 November 2026 every verified member spins the thank-you wheel once and receives a personal certificate of appreciation. Registration is open now and closes at the end of Monday, 16 November 2026.
Is it free? Do I have to buy anything?
Yes, it is free, and no, you do not have to buy anything. Registration, membership and the spin cost nothing. There is no subscription, no payment details at signup and no paid tier. The gifts are shipped at no cost to you.
Is this gambling?
No. It is a free prize draw with no stake: you pay nothing, you risk nothing, and every participant receives a certificate regardless of the outcome. The terms of participation are linked at the bottom of this page.
Do I have to be online at a set time?
Yes — Wertschätzung takes place on Tuesday, 17 November 2026 and the wheel is open only on that day, so you need to sign in within that window. Inside it, any hour suits you: there is no fixed session to attend, and your spin is waiting whenever you log in, in a break or after the shift.
What if I am not verified on 17 November?
Register before registration closes (the end of Monday, 16 November 2026) and a reviewer will get to your account before or during the event — verification usually takes one business day. As soon as it is active you can sign in and spin, provided the day (Tuesday, 17 November 2026) is still open. The earlier you register, the less of that day you spend waiting.
I took part in Der erste Funke or Der zweite Funke. Do I have to register again?
No. Your SYN account carries over: sign in on 17 November and your spin on the Wertschätzung wheel is waiting. If your account was never verified, sign in now and upload your photo so a reviewer can activate it before the day.
Who can join?
Three groups from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the EU: anyone who works in laser welding, on any brand of machine; anyone who runs a Sigma laser welding machine, whether bought new, secondhand or through a distributor; and anyone who has bought a laser welding machine from another manufacturer without being a welder themselves. Every account is verified by a person before it is activated.
Do I get something even if the wheel shows no gift?
Yes. Every participant receives a personal certificate of appreciation after the spin, whatever the outcome. The wheel decides the gift, not whether you are thanked.
What is on the wheel?
The gifts on the wheel are shown on this page, and again on the wheel itself before you spin. They come in three tiers — a main thank-you, premium thank-yous and workshop thank-yous — and a gift that has run out is removed from the wheel rather than left on it.
Where do you ship to?
Physical gifts are shipped to the address on your account after your claim is approved, within Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the EU. The wheel only shows gifts that can still be won.
Can I still join once the day has started?
No. Registration for Wertschätzung closes the moment the wheel opens, at the end of Monday, 16 November 2026, and stays closed for as long as the wheel is open. When the day is over registration opens again: SYN itself stays open and further campaigns follow.
What happens to my data and the photo I upload?
The photo is used to verify your account and nothing else: it is never published, never shown to other members and never used for commercial purposes. Your name, company and email serve your account and the shipping of a gift. Nothing is passed on for commercial purposes. You can ask us to delete your account and its documents at any time; the privacy policy is linked at the bottom of this page.
How do I say thank you to someone?
Use the buttons in the “Say thank you” section: they open a prepared post on LinkedIn or a message on WhatsApp with the hashtag #Wertschätzung and the link to this page. Name the person or team and say why, in your own words. Selected thank-yous are shown on this page during the campaign, only with the consent of the people involved.
